Impact is essential in business.
We believe that everything we do in the world creates an impact. Therefore, we strive to make our impact intentional.
Empowering Women.
Every purchase that you make through Megha Tiwari Jewelry empowers and supports women through the Megha Tiwari Jewelry Impact Fund. The world becomes a more beautiful place when women of color are protected and empowered. We carry out this aim with two overarching key objectives: the health and wealth of women of color.
Health includes both physical and mental health to ensure a holistic approach. Wealth includes financial literacy and education as well as mentoring and investing in women of color owned businesses in order to advance equal access to financial resources for WOC owned businesses.
Mindfulness, Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Mindfulness, mental health, and well-being are essential components of leading a fulfilling and healthy life. Through our fund, we aim to provide women of color with the resources and tools they need to prioritize their mental health and well-being. We believe that investing in women's mental health and well-being can have a ripple effect, leading to positive changes for families, communities, and entire societies.
Empowering through Mental Health
The MTJ Impact Fund supports programs that provide women of color with access to mental health services, including counseling, therapy and support groups that take into account the unique experiences and challenges faced by women of color. We partner with organizations to accomplish our objectives, such as, The Loveland Foundation. The Loveland Foundation brings opportunity and healing to communities of color, and especially to Black women and girls.
We also invest in initiatives that support mind-body-soul healing such as Meditation, Yoga, Nutrition and Exercise.
When women thrive mentally, emotionally and spiritually, it has a positive ripple effect throughout generations of families, communities and economies.
Financial Literacy and Business Support.
We believe that financial education and access is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and inequality that so many women face. By investing in women-led businesses, we aim to create a more equitable and sustainable world for everyone. Our mission is to empower women by providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed financially.
Stronger When WOC are Financially Supported
We believe that investing in women is not only a matter of social justice, but it also makes good economic sense. Women are often the primary caretakers in their families and communities, and when they have access to financial resources, literacy and education, they can lift up everyone in their family and community. Research shows that when women have access to financial services and education, they are more likely to invest in the health, education, and well-being of their families.
Join us in our mission to empower women and create a better future for all. Your support can make a real difference in the lives of women of color and their families.
Growing Power of Women Innovating
Women make up a significant portion of the global workforce and are increasingly becoming entrepreneurs and business owners. However, women often face unique financial challenges and barriers, such as gender-based discrimination, lack of access to credit and financial services, and unequal pay.
Through our fund, we provide grants and loans to women entrepreneurs, as well as financial education and mentorship programs. Our goal is to help women build successful businesses that generate income and create jobs, while also contributing to the growth and development of their communities.
Sustainability in the Jewelry Industry.
The jewelry industry has the potential to be a leader in sustainable and responsible business practices. At MTJ, we support initiatives that increase sustainability, traceability and recycling in the jewelry industry.
We know that change starts at home, or in our case, in the studio. 100% of our manufacturing partners are located in the United States and 100% of our metal sourcing is based in the United States. In the future, it is our goal to continue to partner exclusively with US-based businesses so that we can continue to reduce our carbon footprint and support local economies. We believe that by keeping our operations US-based, we can build strong relationships with our manufacturers, which in turn leads to higher quality materials and products.
“Recycled Beauty” program
We are proud to announce our inaugural sustainability program, “Recycled Beauty.” Through this program, we collect our scrap metal as well as your old, unwanted jewelry pieces to recycle. We partner with our trusted and skilled US-based supplier in order to facilitate the recycling and upcycling process. Clients who send in their pre-loved jewelry will receive a $20 gift card towards future purchases. All proceeds from this program go directly into the MTJ Impact Fund. Through this program, we are doing our part to create a jewelry industry that is responsible and transparent and hopefully inspiring our customers to be mindful about how and where they purchase jewelry.
Our Commitment
At MTJ, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We are committed to bringing you beautiful pieces of jewelry that are responsibly made and also support local communities.
2030 Projected Goals
By 2025, we have set ambitious goals to achieve 100% recycled gold, third-party certification, and full traceability for all our jewelry.
To achieve these goals, we are taking a holistic approach that addresses every aspect of our business, from sourcing and manufacturing to packaging and shipping. We believe that every step we take towards sustainability is a step towards a better future for our customers and the planet.
The beauty of recycled gold
Our commitment to using 100% recycled gold means that we will aim to only use recycled gold, which is obtained from existing jewelry and other sources, and can be refined (melted down and re-used) without the need for further mining. The benefit of refined gold is that we can be sure to avoid Mined Gold, which often has a burdensome and unfair impact in the areas of the mine and its surrounding communities.
Third-party certification
In addition to using recycled gold, we are also committed to achieving third-party certification, which will ensure that our jewelry meets the highest standards for social and environmental responsibility. We aim to partner with Scientific Global Services (SGS), a global leader in third-party environmental and sustainability certification, testing and standards development, to audit our precious metals (gold and silver). This certification will provide our customers with the confidence that their jewelry has been ethically and sustainably sourced and produced. Secondly, we aim to ensure that all our metal alloy suppliers are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).
Transparency in Communication and Materials
Finally, we believe in transparency. That includes not only where our jewelry comes from but also transparency in communications with our clients. We communicate openly with clients about how we are progressing towards our goals and thank you for trusting us along this journey.
As far as traceability, we are committed to providing our customers with information about the origin of their jewelry. Our goal is to trace each piece of jewelry back to its source, further ensuring that it was produced under fair labor conditions and using sustainable practices.
At MTJ, we are excited about our journey towards sustainability and look forward to sharing our progress with our clients along the way. We believe that by working together, we can be a little piece in the puzzle that pushes the jewelry industry towards a more sustainable and equitable future. Thank you for being with us on this beautiful journey!
